The Joys of Grad School

Jason and I came back last night from a wonderful Thanksgiving tour of Texas (we went to Plano, Sheridan, Seguin for a football game, and Hallettsville-ish) and great time with lots of family. We brought a good friend with us too, which made it extra special.

But today, the reality of this week hit. I have 2 papers due (one of which we present tomorrow night in class), a final Wednesday morning, and a final Friday afternoon, neither of which I had begun studying for. So, to prepare I took a 2-3 hour nap with my notes by my head. According to my mom's college roommate, if you put them under your pillow you can learn through osmosis while you sleep. Too bad I was out cold before I remembered that. :)

I'm a bit stressed out, but I know it will all get done. I'm just not looking forward to the effort. As long as we get our second paper done, though, I'll begin a 6 week, 3 day, and 22 hour break on Friday at 5. Woohoo!

I used to do the "notes under your pillow" thing in college too. I firmly believe that it works! I also think that being well-rested before a test is at least as important as studying. You're more likely to be able to think & recall info.
